“For as rich as you are. It's much better by far to be young at heart”

“And here is the best part, you have a head start, if you are among the very young at heart.”

Music & Song

We set up Young@Heart Café with a very gentle framework. We knew that music and song were important for people with memory loss. Lots of research backs this up.
— Maria Collins, Founder

Music and song is the special sauce that binds the Young@Heart Café together.

We work with a variety of musicians offering a range of different musical and entertainment experiences.

We have also created our own easy-to-read songbooks and Spotify playlist so that everyone can take Young@Heart home with them.

Young@Heart artists

We’ve enhanced the entertainment at Young@Heart by putting on a variety of local artists who play in residence at the café.

Each musician offers their own repertoire and lead the singing from one of the 5 Young@Heart songbooks.

  • Sean is a crooner who specialises in the songs of Rat Packers Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and uber-crooner Bing Crosby.

  • Jim O’Leary offers a full-on Country & Western experience - Contact: 07779755545

  • Georgi Barret is our vintage songstress who styles herself according to the era of the songs she sings. Contact: gr_barratt@btinternet.com

  • Brian and Eric are 2 friends who have reunited their friendship and rebooted their musical mojo for the Young@Heart audience

  • Neal Astbury – International singer and entertainer. Contact:  magicvoice@btinternet.com
