Young@Heart Café not re-opening in New Year

Yesterday evening the Young@Heart Café Steering Committee made a careful decision to postpone the Wednesday afternoon Young@Heart Cafes during January 2022 and will review this decision at the end of the month.

The decision was based on the UK Health Agency Security and infection control guidelines to prevent further harm to Young@Heart Cafe guests and ensure the safety of Young@Heart Cafe volunteers.

The Committee also felt it was our responsibility to support local healthcare and social care organisations and make sure we do not place undue pressure on local services.

We will continue to support our guests by keeping in contact with them via our weekly Comfort Call Service.

This decision will be reviewed at the next Steering Committee meeting on Monday 24th January.
